Sergio Gutiérrez, PhD student at the University of Cantabria within the framework of the Life4Fgases project, is doing a pre-doctoral stay at the Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry (LAQV) of the Department of Chemistry at NOVA University of Lisbon (Portugal).
From February 3 to March 4, 2025, Sergio will work on the validation and commissioning of HAMSYS, the pilot plant developed in the project, under the supervision of Dr. Ana Belén Pereiro Estévez.
HAMSYS is an innovative technology that combines adsorption and membrane processes for the recovery of R-32 fluorinated refrigerant gas from recovered R-410A mixtures. Its implementation represents a key milestone for Life4Fgases, as it marks the beginning of the final phase of the project.
With this validation, the consortium advances in its commitment to develop sustainable solutions for the recovery and reuse of fluorinated gases, contributing to the reduction of their environmental impact.
